Seth Kim-Cohen [Seven Great Rock Music Record Albums And Everything
I Can Think Of To Say About Them In The Time It Takes To Listen To Them]
23 June 2007, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
PS 122, 150 1st Ave, New York, NY
(Part of Summer School, a series of events and exhibits organized by Homework)

In the headphones: seven great rock albums by Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Serge Gainsbourg, Patti Smith, and Public Image Limited. In the gallery: the listener’s voice. The lecture-as-performance asks: What else do we listen to when we listen to music? Over the course of six hours, the answer comes: history, race, other music, politics, childhood, gender, regrets, economics, freedom, aesthetics, death. The audience is invited to bring their iPods and listen along to the music while listening to the listener.
