29 Ounces of the Atlantic Ocean
Evaporating in C-Major

The FUEL Collection, Philadelphia, PA
2008

29 ounces of the Atlantic Ocean, in one ounce bottles, are set upon the white keys of a small organ, creating a dissonant chord. As the ocean evaporates, keys release, notes leave the chord. Due to the properties of 8-voice polyphony, other notes join the chord. Over the course of seven weeks, the composition is written and performed by the environment.
